Dr Öztop'un araştırma grubu, gıdalara yönelik yeni tahribatsız analiz yöntemleri geliştirmek için NMR/MR tabanlı tekniklerin kullanımını araştırıyor. Bu teknikler genellikle nanoteknoloji ve diğer yeni tekniklerle (HHP, mikrodalga...) tamamlanmaktadır. Gıdaların fiziko-kimyasal özellikleri, kimyası, matematiksel modellemesi her projede yer almaktadır.
